I Was the Joy

“For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross.” — Hebrews 12:2

Most of us read that verse and think about heaven, victory, or resurrection. But what if the joy wasn’t just the outcome? What if the joy was you?

Before the nails, the crown of thorns, the weight of sin— Jesus saw you. Not the perfected or polished version of you, but you as you are. And He decided you were worth it.

“I Was the Joy” declares:

• I was on His mind.

• I was in His heart.

• I was worth redeeming.

It is a reminder that you are not forgotten; you are not tolerated; but you are deeply loved! You were the joy set before Him! And now, because of that, the joy of the Lord becomes your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Because you were His joy… now He becomes your joy!
